(AP) Federal prosecutors in Birmingham say a woman already in prison for trying to defraud the BP oil spill fund has agreed to plead guilty in a fraud and tax evasion scheme. Authorities said Tuesday that 33-year-old Sherica Lacey Lee has agreed to plead guilty to tax evasion and wire fraud. Authorities say Lee, who ran a tax preparation business, submitted a tax return in 2008 claiming no taxable income when she had more than $229,100 in taxable income that year.

SMALL EARTHQUAKE RECORDED IN EUTAW EUTAW (AP) Another small earthquake has been reported in western Alabama. The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 3.8 tremor was recorded Tuesday morning near Eutaw roughly 35 miles southwest of Tuscaloosa. USGS officials say the earthquake happened at a depth of just over 3 miles underground. A state earthquake expert has said researchers have installed a seismic monitor northwest of Eutaw.

THREE MEN GUNNED DOWN DURING WEEKEND MONTGOMERY (AP) Police in Montgomery are investigating the killings of three people in one weekend. They say all three victims were shot to death. The Montgomery Advertiser reports that 32-year-old Sylvester Morris was gunned down in the latest killing, which happened Sunday night. Police say 51-year-old Gary Golthy of Montgomery was shot and killed Friday night. On Saturday, 25-year-old Chauncey Jackson was shot and later died.

COUNTY NAMES NEW SUPERINTENDENT MOULTON (AP) The Decatur Daily reports that the Lawrence County school board on Monday selected Johnny Yates for the position. Yates had been serving as interim superintendent. Yates replaces Heath Grimes, who has been named superintendent of Russellville City Schools. The Decatur newspaper reports that during the past few months, he helped school board members with a reduction-in-force plan, which led to about $1 million in budget cuts. DEPUTY CLEARED IN FATAL SHOOTING MOULTON (AP) -A Lawrence County sheriff's deputy has been cleared of wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a man authorities have said approached a deputy with a sharp object.

Relatives of 39-year-old Shane Watkins have said the man is schizophrenic and was off his medication during the fatal encounter with the deputy on March 19. A grand jury has declined to indict the deputy.
